NORFOLK, Va. – Temple women's tennis opened up its 2017 spring campaign with a 6-1 drop against the ODU Monarchs. Owls junior Yana Khon was able to grab her first victory of the season in the #5 spot.
Khon's victory against the Monarchs' Natalya Malenko highlighted the Owls morning. Khon was able to top Malenko 6-3, 0-6, 6-4.
Making her Temple debuts, Galina Ghernykh grabbed the number one singles spot for the day but was defeated by ODU's Borislava Botusharova 6-1, 6-0. Botusharova currently ranks sixth in singles within the ITA Atlantic Regional Rankings.
