PHILADELPHIA — The Temple volleyball team opened the 2015 Hilton Penn's Landing Cherry & White Challenge with a 3-0 sweep over visiting Montana on Friday night. The Owls took the match, 25-15, 25-23, and 25-14, to move to 5-2 on the season, while the Grizzles dip to 1-7.
Temple worked around a slow second set by combining to hit .322 for the match. The Owls made just four combined errors in the first and third sets, and then got hot at the right time in set two, to earn the victory.
Sophomore Irem Asci led the way with 14 kills and a pair of aces, while junior Tyler Davis and sophomore Izzy Rapacz each added nine kills.
