PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple volleyball team was honored by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) this week, earning the US Marine Corps/AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2019-20 school year. The award honors excellence in the classroom by recognizing teams that maintain at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA.
While a record 1,313 teams between women's and men's high school and college teams earned this distinction, Temple earned special mention with an AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll nod. The Owls' 3.65 cumulative team GPA ranked in the top 46 of all of NCAA Division I women's teams this year.
