PHILADELPHIA -- Temple's varsity eight boat took home a bonze medal, highlighting Owl action at the 2016 Dad Vail Regatta on Saturday. It was the last Schuylkill event for long-time head coach, Dr. Gavin White, who announced he will retire at the end of the season.
The Owls' varsity eight opened the day with a second place finish in the semifinals. Temple was just off the pace of FIT (5:47.554), recording a time of 5:50.562. The Owls out-distanced Purdue, North Carolina, Ithaca, and UMass-Lowell in the semi.
In the finals, FIT (5:55.410) again came out on top, followed by Drexel (5:58.
