Unable To Shake Early Deficit, Women's Basketball Falls to Cincinnati 70-52

PHILADELPHIA - Plagued by a slow start and poor shooting, the Temple women's basketball team (10-17, 2-12) fell to conference rival Cincinnati (17-10, 9-5) 70-52 in this year's "School Day" game. Despite the loss, it was a historic day for senior guard Tanaya Atkinson. With her seventh rebound of the game midway through the third quarter, Atkinson became just the second player in program history to notch 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds for her career. Marilyn Stephens (1980-84) is the only other Owl to achieve the feat.

KEYS TO THE GAME
> Cincinnati got out to an early lead thanks to a strong defensive first quarter and never looked back.
