STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The Temple University track and field team wrapped up a successful opening weekend on Sunday, Dec. 8 at the Bill Ward Invitational, hosted by St. John's University. The Owls captured seven individual titles and put every student-athlete in the top-10 of their respective events to conclude a busy weekend at Ocean Breeze.
Meet Highlights
> Junior Sydney Williams opened up action for the Owls in the 60m hurdles, clocking in at 9.13 in the event to finish second overall.
> Temple advanced six runners to finals in the 60m dash, as freshman Chelby Elam, sophomore Brielle Lewis, freshman Zowie Dahn, senior Madison Beecher, freshman Tannekee Strachan and junior Candus Burks all placed in the event's top-seven.
