PHILADELPHIA – Temple will celebrate the 20th Anniversary of one of its best teams, the 1998-99 Elite Eight squad, on Saturday, January 20th when the current Owls host Cincinnati (Noon/CBS SportsNetwork). The team will be recognized in a special halftime ceremony at the game.
Under the direction of Hall of Fame coach John Chaney, the 1998-99 squad posted a 24-13 overall record while playing the nation's number one non-conference schedule. Led by all-Atlantic 10 performers Pepe Sanchez and Lamont Barnes, the Owls posted a 13-3 conference record to win the East Division for the second straight season.
