Temple Mourns Passing of Hall of Famer Ed Tatoian

PHILADELPHIA - Temple University mourns the loss of Hall of Famer Ed Tatoian, a two-time national champion soccer player, who passed away on June 7 at the age of 88.

One of the most prolific players in Temple men's soccer history, Mr. Tatoian scored both Owl goals in leading the Cherry and White to a 2-0 win over San Francisco for the 1951 National Championship. Two years later, the Owl standout scored four goals in the final nine minutes to propel Temple to a 5-2 comeback win over Army. The victory was the closest match in the Temple's perfect 9-0-0 season, which he was named the Most Valuable Player.
