Week 7 in the NFL proved to be anticlimactic for the Owls in the NFL.
Four former Owls - the Buffalo Bills [Dion Dawkins (2013-16) and Tyler Matakevich (2012-15)], Jacksonville Jaguars [Chapelle Russell (2015-19)], and Minnesota Vikings [Harrison Hand (2019)] - all were inactive with bye weeks. Rock Ya-Sin (2018) was also inactive while his Indianapolis Colts won at San Francisco on Sunday Night Football.
Matt Rhule (2013-16) and his Carolina Panthers traveled north to take on the Giants. All seven of his former Owls saw action but the Panthers succumbed, 25-3. The defense played okay with the help of former Temple stars Sean Chandler (2014-17), Haason Reddick (2012-16), and Sam Franklin (2016-19).
