PHILADELPHIA – The third to last week in the NFL regular season saw 16 former Owls in action throughout the weekend as the playoff race heats up in both conferences.
Six Owls were in action on Saturday, the first being a matchup of three former teammates, as Buffalo offensive tackle Dion Dawkins (2013-16) and linebacker Tyler Matakevich (2012-15) faced off against Denver cornerback Nate Hairston (2014-16). The three were all teammates at Temple in 2014 and 2015. Dawkins was on the field blocking for all but one snap in the game, as Buffalo's offense gained over 530 yards of total offense in a 48-19 win, clinching the AFC East and a playoff spot.
