PHILADELPHIA - Senior Matt Kacyon, a film and media arts major, has been named to the 2015 Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Men's Cross Country Team. Selected by 30 sports information offices of the Philadelphia metropolitan area, also known as PhillySIDA, the team recognizes student-athletes who athletically excel while contributing to their surrounding community and exceed a 3.20 GPA.
Kacyon has a 3.65 grade-point average, and last year he was named Temple's Male Institutional Scholar Athlete for the American Athletic Conference. He placed eighth at the 2015 American Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships to earn all-conference honors for a second year in a row, running a personal-best time of 24:07.
