NEW YORK, N.Y. - Freshman Devin Kinzel has been named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week following a strong performance in Temple's conference opener last weekend, as announced by the league Tuesday. Nienke Oerlemans was also recognized for her performance, being tabbed to the Weekly Honor Roll for the first time this season.
Kinzel scored her first career goal in the 3-2 shootout victory over Quinnipiac to help secure Temple's first league win of the season. The Virginia Beach, Va. native fired one shot, putting it on frame.
Oerlemans recorded defensive saves in back-to-back games, and scored the eventual game-winner in the shootout against Quinnipiac to secure the victory.
