PHILADELPHIA - Former Temple men's basketball coach Fran Dunphy received another honor as Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney presented him with a Liberty Bell in a hometown tribute ceremony held at City Hall Monday.
Dunphy, who was the recipient of an honorary doctorate degree from Temple University at last Thursday's commencement will be honored again at City Hall, this time by City Council on May 16. He will receive the John Wanamaker Award a few weeks later on June 11.
Inducted into the Philadelphia Big 5 Hall of Fame in April, Dunphy, who stepped down as the Owls' coach following the 2018-19 season, received the Dean Smith Award presented by the U.
