PHILADELPHIA - Temple fencing juniors Malia Hee and Kerry Plunkett are two of 12 student-athletes selected to the 2018-19 Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area At-Large Team. Temple had a third representative on the team in Jaylene Everett from gymnastics. The team is voted on by the sports information offices of 30 area institutions from the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
Hee, an advertising major with a 3.95 GPA, is a repeat honoree after also being selected to the team in her sophomore season. She went 48-18 in dual meets this season to rank second on the team, and won gold in sabre at the 2018-19 Penn State Garret Open.
