Fencing Finishes 4-2 at Penn's Elite Invitational; Owls Within a Point of Two Top Teams

PHILADELPHIA - In its first dual meets of the 2016-17 season, Temple fencing went 4-2 at the Elite Invitational and nearly toppled two of the top programs in the nation. The Owls' losses were by one point each, to defending national champion Columbia and to last year's third-place team in the nation, Notre Dame.

"I think this meet helped our girls realize how close we are to being where we want to be," said Temple head coach Nikki Franke. "To do that well against some of these schools is hopefully motivation for them to continue to work hard because we're right there.
