PHILADELPHIA – Temple University announced this afternoon that Ed Foley was named interim head football coach and will lead the team in the Military Bowl presented by Northrup Grumman on Dec. 27, 2016. Foley takes the reins after Matt Rhule informed the University he was taking the head coaching position at Baylor University.
Foley, the assistant head coach who is also in charge of tight ends and special teams, is the longest tenured coach on the staff having been at Temple since 2008. He has had numerous responsibilities for the Cherry and White, working as assistant offensive line coach, recruiting coordinator, and director of football operations, in addition to his current duties.
