In case the rigor of being a student-athlete was not enough, Temple field hockey freshman McKenna Burkhardt took it upon herself to join Temple ROTC as an Army Cadet.
ROTC Cadets have frequent personal training, academic work, and spend extended periods of time at military bases on some weekends and over the summer. However, the additional hours are never a concern for Cadets.
"I decided to do ROTC because ever since I was a kid I had always wanted to be a part of the military in some way," Burkhardt said. "It has kind of always been something I have felt that I was called to do, so making this decision wasn't necessarily hard for me.
