BOCA RATON, Fla. – #24 Temple couldn't complete a fourth-quarter comeback, as the Owls fell to Toledo, 32-17, in a steady downpour at the Marmot Boca Raton Bowl at FAU Stadium. Temple sees its record-setting 2015 campaign end at 10-4, while Toledo finishes its season at 10-2.
The Owls, who tied a school record with 10 wins this season, move to 2-3 all-time in Bowl games.
Temple LB Tyler Matakevich, who took home both the Bednarik and Nagurski Awards as College Defender of the Year, led the Owls' defense with a game-high 12 tackles. The 12 stops put him at 493 for his career, passing Steve Conjar (1978-81) to set a new Temple record.
