PHILADELPHIA - The high-powered offense of #1/1 Villanova snapped a five-game win streak for Temple men's basketball on Wednesday night, as the Wildcats (23-3, 4-0 Big 5) won 83-67 in front of a Liacouras Center-record crowd of 10,472. The Owls (16-9, 2-2 Big 5) cut a 23-point second-half deficit to 11, but could come no closer.
Villanova earns its third straight outright Philadelphia Big 5 title with a perfect record of 4-0. The Wildcats got a game-high 25 points from freshman Jalen Brunson, who hit 9-of-11 from the field.
Freshmen led both teams in the city series contest, as Temple got a career-high 21 points from Trey Lowe who made 5-of-8 three-pointers.
