CANTON, Ohio -- Alphabetically, LaDainian Tomlinson belongs after Barry Sanders and Emmitt Smith when they call roll at the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
But athletically, the kid from Waco belongs smack in the middle of those two rushing giants.
"L.T. was a mix between Barry Sanders and Emmitt Smith," said Norv Turner, "and I'd say that's pretty darn good."
Turner should know. He's the last guy to call plays for a back who won three consecutive NFL rushing titles. That would be Emmitt from 1991-93. He's also the last guy to call plays for a running back who won back-to-back NFL rushing crowns.
