Action: College Football Playoff executive director Bill Hancock said Tuesday it's very likely that the Cotton, Fiesta and Peach bowls will be renewed as "New Year's Six" bowls for the remaining eight years of CFP contract.
Reaction: Because none of the three had contracts with power conferences, they faced a renewal process to make sure they were meeting the CFP's standards. Everyone thought it would be a simple cut-and-dried process but there's always a bit of uncertainty.
