Why DeSoto-ex Shawn Robinson 'probably has the edge' in TCU's QB race, despite some limitations

FORT WORTH - The biggest realization for Shawn Robinson in his first season at TCU involved his limitations, not his potential.

As a state championship winning quarterback at DeSoto and an elite dual-threat recruit, Robinson's hallmark was an incredibly high ceiling. His upside now is tempered by experience.

Robinson is locked in a three-way duel to replace the graduated Kenny Hill as TCU's starting quarterback, along with Penn transfer Michael Collins and fifth-year senior Grayson Muehlstein.

As spring practice ended Tuesday, coach Gary Patterson said Robinson "probably has the edge" because of his time backing up Hill last season and one late-season start at Texas Tech.
