Turpin eased back into action in return from injury for TCU

Here are some quick-hit notes from TCU's 27-24 double-overtime loss to Texas Tech on Saturday.

Running back KaVontae Turpin returned to the starting lineup after missing four games with a knee injury. Turpin never saw the ball in the first quarter, but co-offensive coordinators Sonny Cumbie and Doug Meacham found a way to get the back involved with a shovel pass in the second quarter. Turpin juked a couple of defenders and gained 14 yards to set up first-and-goal for TCU. Turpin finished with four catches for 39 yards and one rush for 2 yards.

-- Texas Tech came into the game averaging 542.
