Jared Janczak turned in the best pitching performance by a TCU thrower thus far this season last Saturday, holding the Kansas Jayhawks hitless through eight innings and retiring the first 22 batters he faced on his way to a 5-1 Frogs win. The work earned him the title of Big 12 Pitcher of the Week.
A sophomore right-hander out of Belton, Texas, Janczak had a career-high 14 strikeouts in eight innings against KU, and was perfect until an eighth inning error on first baseman Luken Baker. He fought back after the runner reached with one out to get out of the rest of the inning unscathed, before ultimately surrendering the first hit on the first pitch he threw in the top of the ninth.
