TCU Picks up Top DT in George Ellis

The Frogs got good news on the recruiting front Thursday night, as three star defensive tackle George Ellis, out of American Heritage in Florida, made his pledge to be a part of #CarterBoys17.

At 6’2” and 290 pounds, Ellis has the kind of size that Gary Patterson has been in search of this off-season, as he looks to replace seniors Josh Carraway, Aaron Curry, and James McFarland along the defensive front. Projected to Mississippi State through much of his recruiting process, Ellis chose the Frogs over the Bulldogs, Vanderbilt, Wisconsin, USF, and more. Recruited by Doug Meacham and Zarnell Fitch, the recent coaching change did nothing to sway this defensive standout away from Fort Worth.
