TCU head coach Gary Patterson is a defensive guru. The undisputed defensive authority of every conference he's coached in. That includes the Big 12, a conference that has earned a reputation for teams that try to outscore each other rather than stop the other team from scoring.
And while turnovers have cost the Frogs heavily this season, Big 12 defenses have notably stepped up against TCU in recent weeks.
The Frogs scored only 47 points against Texas, Iowa State and Texas Tech with TCU losing two out of three games. That's an average of 15.6 points per game.
