TCU guard Fisher suffers knee injury, will miss Australia trip to have surgery

TCU guard Jaylen Fisher will miss the trip to Australia because of a knee injury, the team announced Saturday, hours before its scheduled departure.

The sophomore suffered a meniscus tear in his knee in practice Thursday.

The team said surgery will be required, which means he must stay home. The team was due to fly out at 10:15 p.m. Saturday to begin its 16-hour flight to Sydney.

No timetable for a recovery was provided, but the recovery period is typically three to four weeks, so he likely has plenty of time to be ready for the season opener in November.
