TCU football coach pay tops $5.1 million

TCU’s most winningest coach, Gary Patterson, earned just over $5.1 million this year, according to the university’s recently filed tax return.

The Star-Telegram reported that Patterson, TCU head football coach, received a bonus of more than $600,000 in 2015, raising his total compensation to just over $5.1 million.

In 2016, only seven football coached earned more than 5 million dollars, according to USA Today’s database of 2016 salaries. The list included: Jim Harbaugh, Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, Bob Stoops, Jimbo Fisher, Charlie Strong and Kevin Sumlin. This season, new Texas coach Tom Herman will see his name on the list.
