TCU coach Gary Patterson met with the media to kick off Big 12 media days at The Star in Frisco on Monday.
He was the only coach to bring more than four players with him to the season-kickoff event. Along with defensive stalwarts Ben Banogu and Ty Summers and offensive skill position players Jaelan Austin and Sewo Olonilua, Patterson decided to bring along true sophomore QB Shawn Robinson as a fifth guest.
The reason? A little bit of superstition.
Two years ago, Texas A&M transfer Kenny Hill was the clear favorite to replace Trevone Boykin at QB but Patterson didn't include Hill in the group of players he brought to media day.
