TCU was able to put an end to their 7-game skid by defeating the Sooners 82-63 in the opening game of the Big 12 Tournament. This is the third consecutive season that the Frogs have won a First Round game in Kansas City. Also, of the last 10 matchups between #8 and #9 seeds, the #9 seed had won 8 times, so TCU did buck that trend.
Both teams got off to hot starts out of the gate and it went back-and-forth for most of the 1st half. Oklahoma and TCU were tied at 29 at the final media timeout, but the Frogs used a 15-2 run to close out the half and take a 44-31 lead into the break.
