TCU scored yet another transfer from a Division I program Sunday evening, with Louisiana-Monroe cornerback Josh Newton declaring his commitment to the Horned Frogs on social media. Newton has started for the Warhawks over each of the last three seasons.
The 5-foot-11, 195-pounder from Monroe, Louisiana totaled a career-high 48 tackles, eight passes defended and two interceptions for his hometown school during the 2021 season. Newton, who entered the transfer portal May 12, had 84 total tackles along with 15 passes defensed, 5.5 tackles for loss and three interceptions in his three years at LA-Monroe.
