The finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame 2017 class were announced Tuesday night. And leading the list is LaDainian Tomlinson.
Tomlinson played 11 seasons in the NFL. He played nine seasons with the San Diego Chargers and finished his final two with the New York Jets. In the NFL, Tomlinson’s 13,684 rushing yards rank fifth all-time and his 145 rushing touchdowns are second. He also won league MVP honors in 2006.
Before joining the NFL, Tomlinson played for TCU where he helped the Horned Frogs earn their first bowl game win in 41 years in the Sun Bowl against the USC Trojans.
