FORT WORTH -- Like he's done for a dozen seasons, TCU coach Gary Patterson told his football team quickly about 2005, when the Frogs barged into Norman, Okla., and beat then-No. 7-ranked Oklahoma in the season opener.
They lost to SMU 21-10 the following week.
They finished that season 11-1.
It's an annual message he sends to his team after any win that is considered season-altering.
"That was the first thing that came out of his mouth," quarterback Kenny Hill said.
And yet, Patterson knows the words probably went in one ear and out the other.
