Guenther’s three run jack highlights 6-2 win over UTRGV

First baseman Jake Guenther launched a three run shot into right field in the bottom of the first and three pitchers combined for six shutout innings out of the pen to back up freshman Dawson Barr, as the Horned Frogs won 6-2 over Rio Grande Valley Tuesday night.

Barr struggled early, allowing the Vaqueros to score once in each of the first two innings - but those would be their only runs of the game. After allowing back to back hits and a sac fly, Barr recorded consecutive strikeouts in his first inning of work. The Frogs answered in a big way in the bottom of the third off the bat of Guenther, who sent his third long ball of the season over the fence in right, scoring Watson (who doubled), and Isola (who was hit by a pitch).
