Gary Patterson won't call it a QB controversy, but in relief duty for TCU, Michael Collins gave the coach a lot to think about

FORT WORTH - TCU’s quarterback situation got a lot more complicated Saturday after backup Michael Collins briefly rallied the Horned Frogs in a 52-27 loss to Oklahoma.

Collins replaced Shawn Robinson in the second quarter and led TCU to 17 unanswered points, with touchdown passes of 41 yards to KaVontae Turpin and 33 yards to Jalen Reagor. The Penn transfer finished 7 of 17 for 142 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. Making his seventh consecutive start, Robinson was 3-of-8 for 21 yards before the change.

“I'm not going to make it about a quarterback controversy, so you guys are going to have to write that yourself,” coach Gary Patterson said.
