TCU hasn't played at Amon G. Carter Stadium since smashing Southern in Week 1.
The Horned Frogs have lost two straight games against Ohio State -- which almost felt like a true road game thanks to the split crowd at AT&T Stadium -- and Texas in Austin. Both contests saw TCU cruising until third-quarter miscues led to the Frogs' demise.
TCU's only other win was against SMU in Dallas, and was a sloppy, water-logged win at that.
Home-cooking won't win ballgames by itself, but it can help in terms of preparation.
"We need a big crowd and we need to get ourselves going," Patterson said on the Big 12's weekly media teleconference.
