The Big 12 isn't very old. In fact, it wouldn't even be able to legally drink if it were human.
But ahead of the conference's 21st birthday on August 31, how far has the conference - and the teams leaving and joining it - fared?
A quick look back: The Big 12 was born in 1996 when the Southwest Conference schools - Texas, Texas A&M, Baylor and Texas Tech - joined Big Eight schools Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Kansas, Kansas State, Colorado, Nebraska, Missouri and Iowa State.
That core lasted until 2011, when Colorado bolted for its Pac-12 neighbors and Nebraska for the Big Ten.
