For the third time in six years, DeSoto and Southlake Carroll will meet in the playoffs, facing off in an area-round game at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco. DeSoto won 48-30 last year en route to capturing the Class 6A Division II state championship.
"They're a really good football team ... big, strong, fast, athletic," Carroll coach Hal Wasson said Tuesday. "We're going to have to play really well in all three phases to have a shot at them."
The teams played an epic playoff game in 2012, with DeSoto winning 49-45 in a regional final at SMU's Ford Stadium.
