FORT WORTH - Dallas Baptist’s offense came alive early and the Patriots stayed alive Monday afternoon in the NCAA Tournament.
Third-seeded DBU eliminated second-seeded Virginia 11-8 and advanced to the evening game with top-seeded TCU (44-16), the only unbeaten team left in the regional. The if-needed game would be Tuesday.
The Horned Frogs need just one win to advance and host the super regionals at Lupton Stadium. DBU (42-20) needs to win both to claim the regional title. The teams met twice during the regular season, with TCU winning 3-2 in 10 innings in Fort Worth and 9-3 at Dallas Baptist.
