A Big 12 title game endorsement
If you recall, it was College Football Playoff selection chairman Jeff Long who introduced Big 12 fans to the concept of a 13th data point. In a way, the discussions after the first CFP rankings in 2014 more or less convinced the Big 12 to bring back its title game beginning this year. Long's CFP chair successor, Texas Tech AD Kirby Hocutt, endorsed the moved on Wednesday. "Well, I'm pleased that our league has adopted the championship game," Hocutt said. "It gives us as a league the 13th opportunity to have a quality matchup and have that evaluation.
