In not exactly surprising, but certainly disappointing news, rising junior cornerback Deshawn Raymond has announced that he will be leaving TCU.
Raymond came to TCU with a ton of hype as a four star talent out of East Jefferson High in Metairie, Louisiana. At 6’1” and 188 pounds, he brought an element of size to go along with his elite speed to what was then a veteran unit. After enrolling early with the Frogs, much was expected from the #24 cornerback in the nation and top 300 overall player, but unfortunately, those expectations never met reality.
Raymond struggled with injuries in Fort Worth after choosing TCU over offers from LSU, Georgia, Oklahoma State, and others, and was unable to get on the field in 2016.
