Gary Patterson and TCU Football have a long history of recruiting Louisiana, especially on the defensive side of the ball. They reached back into The Boot this weekend, securing a commitment from three star defensive end Earl Barquet Monday, a top 25 player out of the state. He is the first Louisiana product to commit in this year’s class.
Barquet made plenty of fans with the wonderfully adorable tweet above, and surely many more will join now that he’s committed to TCU. The 6’3”, 236 pound athletic edge rusher out of John Ehret High School in Marrero, LA held 13 offers, including Georgia, Oklahoma, Florida State, and Texas A&M.
