Tanaka has enjoyed a strong second half, but he stumbled last time out, allowing five runs in four innings to the Red Sox. He has a 2.64 ERA in 12 starts since July 15, and is 1-1 with a 1.20 ERA in two starts vs. the Rays this year.
Stanek got the job done Sunday in Toronto when he inherited a one-on, two-out situation in the eighth and retired Randal Grichuk -- the only batter he faced -- on a popout. Since the beginning of June, he is 1-2 with a 2.35 ERA in 48 appearances.
