Archer gave up four runs in five frames Tuesday vs. the Yanks in a no-decision. He faced only two batters when he last pitched in Chicago, on Sept. 2 last year, allowing homers to Alen Hanson and Yolmer Sanchez before leaving with forearm tightness.

Gonzalez struggled in his first start of the season, giving up six runs (five earned) in five innings against the Jays. He’ll pitch vs. the Rays in the opener, whom he hasn’t faced since Sept. 28, 2016, when he tossed 8 1/3 scoreless innings.
