Video: Kevin Kiermaier amazes with Willy Mays-style catch

Kevin Kiermaier is the best defensive outfielder in all of baseball. Period.

Since emerging onto the scene in 2014, Kiermaier instantly became one of the game’s great defenders, showcasing his spectacular abilities on every given night, whether it be an awe inspiring catch or an unbelievable throw to nail a runner down at whatever base they fatefully chose to pursue.

The first game of Wednesday’s double-header proved no exception as Kiermaier made one of his finest catches yet.

In the bottom of the 6th inning, with the game at 3-2 in favor of the Kansas City Royal, Kansas City had runners on first and second, with two outs, and Kelvin Gutierrez was at the plate facing off against Jalen Beeks.
