The Rays, who lead the Majors in home runs, got back-to-back solo shots from Colby Rasmus and Tim Beckham in the fourth inning, but that was all the damage done in six innings against Seattle right-hander Christian Bergman (3-2, 4.36 ERA).
Kevin Kiermaier ripped a two-run homer in the seventh off Seattle reliever James Pazos to cut the margin to 8-4, but Seattle settled the issue by answering with four runs in the bottom of that frame. Kiermeier was 3-for-4 with a double and home run, but the Rays fell to 4-3 on their current road trip and 29-28 overall.
