The Tampa Bay Rays current payroll sits at $50.8 Million according to Baseball-Reference. The Rays are seemingly going for it in 2019 by making a competitive offer to Nelson Cruz, signing All-Star Charlie Morton, and remaining in the hunt for the Marlins’ J.T. Realmuto.
Sources indicate Braves and Marlins have talked again about Realmuto. Braves appear to be waiting Marlins out. Rays remain a possibility.
