Prospects are the life blood of the Tampa Bay Rays. Even though several players have been signed to team friendly extensions, giving the Rays a solid core to build around, they will still need to find talent in the minors to supplement their roster.
With four players listed amongst the MLB.com Top 100 prospects at the start of the year, the Rays certainly appear to be in good shape on that front. Add in the performance of Jacob Faria since he was added to the major league roster, and the Rays appear to be developing the talent for another run of contention.
