The Tampa Bay Rays have transformed their minor league system into one of the best in the sport. The fruits of a 5 year rebuilding effort finally came to fruition when Willy Adames and former Rays first baseman Jake Bauers made it to the show. Blake Snell proved yet again that the Rays are the best in the business at nurturing young pitchers, while Jose Alvarado and Diego Castillo made the programs in the Dominican Republic worth it.
Baseball America ranked the Tampa Bay Rays farm system as the second best in all of baseball. They enter 2019 tied with the San Diego Padres with 9 top 100 prospects.
