The Tampa Bay Rays fell to the San Diego Padres yesterday afternoon, despite an encouraging start.
Tommy Pham, with a broken hand, drilled a first inning two run home run off the Western Metal Supply building in left field to give the Rays an early 2-0 advantage, but that’d be all for the Rays offense. The Padres would eventually rack up seven runs against the trio of Jalen Beeks, Jose De Leon, and Colin Poche. For De Leon, it was his first MLB appearance since May, 2017.
The Rays are off today, they’ll return to Tropicana Field on Friday to begin a three game set with the Detroit Tigers.
